Blc. Netrasiri Beauty x Ivan's Song
This is its second flowering for me, and I honestly dont remember what it looked like the first time, just that it only had one flower and it sat right on top of the pseudobulb, and definitely not this much lip color! Not sure what I did different, because it wasnt a seedling when I bought it, it had already flowered 3 times. I am also not sure if the tag is correct because the other catt I got from them was mislabeled, but I cant be sure because I have no experience with either of this ones parents. No fragrance yet, but it just opened this morning. Also, the color on the petals and sepals keep getting darker as the day progresses. Not sure if that is from sun exposure or just normal pigment progression.

Thanks! The lip has been bugging me because it reminds me of another catt that I just cant put my finger on, and at first I thought I must be thinking of walkeriana because of the shape, but it kept bugging me. Maybe violacea? Hmmmm

Heres the whole plant. The tallest PB is only 7 inches, and I didnt include the leaf in the height because they never grow straight up, they are all bent at a 90 degree angle where they join the pb, so they dont add height. The total height with the spike is 16 inches! The spike is taller than the plant! The leaves are also the thickest and hardest out of all the catts I have ever owned, or seen in person.
Also, it is strictly unifoliate.

You may have to resign yourself to having an attractive NoID. The closest registered cattleya hybrid to Ivan's Song is C. (Blc.) Ivan Sng. It has nearly 50% C. dowiana in it's background. The other parent on the tag, C. Netrasiri Beauty, a spotted flower (the awarded ones) primarily consisting of C. aclandiae, C. intermedia and C. bicolor. Nothing in the background of either of those plants suggests the vegetative habit of your plant. That vegetative habit is suggestive of a L. anceps hybrid, but not one I am familiar with.

Thanks for the info! The vendor is two for two now! I'm ok with it being a NOID, it just would have been nice to have an ID so I could find out where that lip came from! lol its driving me nuts! I definitely see anceps in the tall spike and flower shape and color, but that lip!! Arg!

I'm sure your first thought was right; that there's a walkeriana in its background along with whatever else. My first thought was the same when I saw the pics.
