Default Cattleya Creme Brule

I’ve been growing this hybrid for a while. It is recovering now from a fungus attack that almost killed it and that reduced the plant size to little more than a seedling. I managed to save it and although still weak, these are the first two flowers after the almost disaster. It is a cross between Cattleya forbesii and Cattleya Chocolat Drop and so, it is composed by three species only: 50% C. forbesii, 25% C. guttata and 25% C. aurantiaca. The plant is taller than C. forbesii and shorter than C. guttata, with the characteristic thin pseudo bulbos seen in C. forbesii. The color is interesting and I am planning using its pollen in another yellow.

You don't see forbesii used much in hybrids. I love that species and this hybrid shows the typical shape of forbesii. Does it have forbesii's fragrance?

It has a light fragrance, Todd. But I can't be positive if it is forbesii's. To me, it seems mixed with gutatta's perfume.
