Three blue cattleyas Male
Default Three blue cattleyas

There are three blue cattleyas blooming in my garden. They are C. bowringiana var. coerulea, Lc. Mary Elizabeth Bohn and an uncertain one (may be C. Pertin)

Blue cattleyas always catch my eye that I now have some of these blue beauties in my colletion.

Beautiful blooms...I can see the blue strain on the flowers...yet even if there is no true blue orchid...most of them light lilac, lavender or violet... at a certain angle the light catches a hint of blue... no need to see an eye doctor.

Thanks for the kind words.
Although they are not true blue or coerulea colored, they are usually included into this category and clubs are created to discussed how to breed new such colors here.
