Very cool. What is the scent like? Is it similar to Brassavola nodosa?

It is hard to describe the fragrance. It is not like that of B. nodosa.

The fragrance is more like Stanhopea Wardii but not as strong. They're like weeds along Rio Chiquito. Wonderful.

Mine smells kind of fruity-floral, like the aroma of a just-ripe pear or apple. Not very strong even in the middle of the night, though this might just be my individual or due to sub-optimal conditions. It's a very nice species, quite tough and grows fine on a stick in a bright windowsill.
This past spring I mounted about 20 seedlings on trees around my in-laws' yard east of Tampa FL, I'm eager to see how they're doing next time we get down there. Thanks for sharing the picture of your friend's plant, pheli!

Thanks.
Nat, I also like this species. As my friend told, his plant blooms for several times every year. I am going to find one to grow.

Very nice. I wish mine would respond like yours. It's mounted on an oak tree on Florida's East Coast. I've had it for 3 years and it's never bloomed. (

Nice bloom. The Ep. Nocturnum grows wild, and profusely, here in Guatemala. I have a lot of them blooming at my place right now (a pic attached).
The "Nocturnum" part of their name comes from the fact they emit their fragrance mostly at night.
