Brassavola digbyana
or Rhyncholaelia. First bloom I picked this up bare root last year at a show. Green is one of my favorite colors.

Beautiful bloom, Carol. And it's impressive that you got it to grow after you bought it as a bare-root plant. I've never had any luck getting Rhyncholaelia digbyana to reestablish whenever I've bought a bare-root plant. Congratulations on the flower (and the good growing).

That is a beautiful flower. The frilly collarlike lip and the starlike shape...yeppers...the kind of color green on that is just striking.

In my world it's Brassavola.
I erroneously corrected the late Fred Fuch's on that plant. His response was " The S.O.B. was a Brassavola when I collected it and will be until they bury me." He was a great man.
My Oncidium Kramerianum still has it's correct tag as does Cattleya Skinerii.
I reckon ole Fred rubbed off on me.

Really nice, Carol! Your plant looks very happy, you've obviously done a great job rehabbing it.
