flowers are named after famous women or the daughters or wife of growers...some even name them after mythological Greek godesses or ladies from folklore. Some orchid hybrids are given the full names of male growers but it doesnt necessarily make the plant male. This is the first time I have ever encountered a flower named after Shakespeare's hero "Romeo" and it is not only a boy but husky at that!
This is a very "macho" orchid.
