Ecuadorian Cattleya iricolor
This Ecuadorian species also is in flower now. It is not so often seen in collections or shows, at least here in Brazil. It has a strong perfume, but... well... not everyone would say "I like it!". It's not so bad as in Cattleya percivalliana, far from that. It is impossible for me to describe a scent, but in this case I'd say it is kind of strange.

Hi Rosim
Stunning!
That is very impressive, congrats.
Is that growth naturally compact? that's nice.

I like it, Mauro! Why is it not very common in Brazil?

Great display! You don't see that species very often. Thanks for sharing!

Mauro - that is beautiful! Can you tell us about it's growing conditions? I have a small one, but it is not doing that well.

So are you saying its a stinker?? It smells bad, or not quite good?? In any case, sounds like it would go well in my little collection.

I wouldn't say it smells bad. I'd rather say that opinions are not unanimous. Some like it, some don't.
BTW, I sent it to a regional show this weekend and it was awarded the best plant in the show. Two TV stations were there to register it. I wasn't there, but friends said it was very nice.
Tricho, yes, the plant has a natural compact growth habit.
