First of all, I guarantee that the color of this one was totally different from the last time it bloomed! It was more of a sunset salmon color on the petal with purplish pink in the middle and the lip is darker purple with a lot of yellow in the center. I don't know what's going on this time...(you can search this one with google and that was the flower I saw last time...)Additionally, there were three buds on the spike and I accidently knocked two off, resulting in this super large flower.
Originally an Slc, I guess all its parents were merged into cattleya, so...anyways, the lip is very velvety and the whole flower sparkles under the sun. I just don't like the washed out color on the petal. Anybody knows why? The last time it bloomed was in winter though.
Lastly, it is very fragrant. Typical cattleya fragrance in the morning, and it turned fruity in the afternoon. No fragrance at night.
