That's exciting! And it didn't seem to take all that long either. Can't wait for the flowers.

Glen, it's under four 4' T8's, 4" from bulbs in a SE window that gets good sun when available and lights are on 15 hours/day right now going to 12/day when DST stops. It's in the center of the pix that I just took.

Chryss - It's absolutely charming. I broke down and bought two repiculous Laelias a few weeks back, L cinnabarina and L rupestris. Can't wait for them to bloom.
Off topic - I've noticed when you do photo updates, you always post the pictures in the original post, you know that you can post them in a reply to post so that the will come up as the latest post, don't you?

Yes, but it comes up my way all together in the original post, with a bump, of course !
Back to topic; Good luck with your newbies, Glen !! Doesn't affect you but I lost both of my other 2 rupicolous Laelias because I left them out in the 6 day deluge of rain here !! Also probably am losing my B. cordata and already 1/2 of my Eplc. Charlie Brown 'Rojo' !!! Tough lesson there !!!!!
OOPS !!! Guess my way doesn't work best !!! I can adapt !!!

Chryss - Do it your way if it suits you, I was not trying to make you adapt, I was merely being my normal, educating self.
Sorry about your rot isues, trust me I fight a constant battle with the Summer rains in Florida. I learned many years ago to spray with a systemic fungicide on a weekly basis during the rainy season here, it has saved me plenty of heartaches, that is not to say that I haven't had any rot issues, just less.

Is Physan 20 a systemic ? I doused them all after I noticed but it didn't stop the Laelias from dying. The other 2 plants MIGHT survive !

Chryss - To your question, I don't believe that it is, from what I read and understand it is a contact product. I really don't use it on my plants, I use it primarily as a cleaning agent in my greenhouse. I find the following passage from the label very interesting:
ORCHIDS Adult plants, use 2 tsp. PHYSAN 20 per gallon of water.
Spray anytime disease other than rot is evident. Spray
once per month as preventative maintenance. Soak
compost when fungus is evident. For other uses of PHYSAN 20 with orchids, refer to Insert #2.
I use Cleary's 3336 or any of it's generic equivalents.
Once a plant is infected, you need to get ahead of the infection. If it has invaded the rhizome you need to keep cutting back until the rhizome shows no signs of discoloration or it will eventually kill the plant.
