Brassavola cucullata
B. cucullata is an easy species to grow. My plant usually blooms in the hot days. Like B. nodosa, the bloom is fragrant at night.

Pheli,
How much light do you give this orchid ? I have my Brassavola cucullata outside and its foliage is pretty much turned purple! Is that too much light ?? Do I need to move it into a more shaded area ?? In fact, ALL of my Brassavola ( nodosa, David Sanders, perrrinii ) outside, and ALL of them now have a dark purple color on the foliage!

If they are getting purple on their leaves, it means you are growing them just right. Keep it up!

I also think your plants receive too much sunlight. But if they are not sunburned, it does not matter.
My plants are under 50% shade, the leaves seldom turn purple.

Ideally you want some purple (usually on the leaf margins or new leaves) since it tells you that it's getting enough light but you don't want the entire plant to be purple. Pigmentation is a way for a plant to protect itself from sunburn, and the next step after 'purpleness'is burning.
