Well, I just noticed a new growth on mine a few weeks a head of schedule. I bet you can crank out another!! Depends if you pollinate this one or not. Any more thoughts on that?

Also, that profile pic showing this flower's flatness is absurd!! I've never seen such a thing! Congrats!

Hahah, thanks Steve. I hope yours uses this new growth to rally and put on some size!

Far and away my favorite Cattleya species. Elegant, challenging, exotic, simple lines, great fragrance, variety of color forms, and good size.

Oh... that whole blooming 2-3 or more times a year thing is pretty awesome, too.

Oh, and yes, I have a very good opportunity to make a sib cross with an outstanding plant, so I will go ahead an pollinate it. The plant is very vigorous, good size, excellent roots, and I have a second piece, so I'm not worried about it holding a pod.

Bob, it's a spicy, kind of astringent fragrance. Nothing unpleasant like percivaliana can be, but it's odd enough that some people don't really care for it. I love it.

I have a nose for smells. I was a wine taster, but the people in the Wine Society didn't like the brown paper bags
