It's ok. I know it still needs to stretch, but the right petal has a flaw. The lip is good, so are the side lobes and the color, but unless the petals lift as it stretches, it has fairly weak shoulders, and the petals are pretty narrow at this point.

The flower is also much smaller right now than I would have hoped, given the parentage. The natural spread is only around 11.5 cm. A far cry from anything outstanding (>13 cm).

Color is good, symmetry good. We'll see how flat it lays. Definitely worth keeping for next time.

They have quite the reputation, but I don't find them difficult. Search for catwalker808 (Harry from H&R) and violacea. Harry has posted growing advice that's as good as you're going to find for this species.

WOW! Thats a striking color! When ordinary humans ask what color is it? and somebody answers: orchid. Thats the color they meant.
