Laelia compot help
I just received in the mail yesterday (8/18) a compot of six Laelia purpurata v. virginalis 'Campea' seedlings and one additional seedling thrown in as gift. Err...out of the five years I have been growing orchids I have never grown orchid seedlings. Kind of foolish to start out with a plant that is so valuable, but I have always wanted this particular variety of purpurata to grow and one day when I get married, wear one of the flowers in my hair.
So, if any of you experts or even successful novices can help me that would be great! They will be growing in a Rion Prestige greenhouse I will be constructing this weekend.
Do I remove the sphagnum moss they are growing in immediately, when they reach the size of being in their own individual pot, or sometime in between?
If they stay in the sphagnum, how do I determine when they need to be watered?
How do their lighting conditions differ from adult laelia purpuratas? (I live in the Northern Central Florida area)
