Mauro, do you always divide your orchids when possible?

I try to grow specimens when possible, especially for the local orchid society meetings. I'm asking as some look over-crowded, and I'm wondering if I should re-think my approach?

I avoid dividing much. I divide when necessary, but I try to keep my plants untouched as long as possible - the more you mess with them, the more they tend to weaken. When they grow into large specimen and become a little troublesome to handle, then I divide. I especially don't divide young plants, those that are leaving the seedling stage and entering adulthood, for a few years after the first bloom.

Mauro - They are very nice, but, the first flower is just stunning. If you were in the US I would be bugging you for a division. I'm green with envy!
