It's better to start a new thread for a new question. People might not look at an old thread. From the left yellow menu you could pick Beginners or Cattleyas. Then above the messages at the left is a grey button New Thread. Post your question like that and more people will see it.

Your plant is probably dropping buds because you keep it too dry. Catts in bud shouldn't dry for long. I don't let mine in bud dry at all.
