For those of you who love cattleya species & hybrids, there will be a great event coming up on July 29 & 30, in Florida.

The First Annual Cattleya Symposium

Date: Friday July 29 & Saturday July 30.
Time: 8:45am to 5:00 Friday
8:45 to 3:30 Saturday
Symposium Location: Indian River Research & Education Center. 2199 South Rock Road. Ft Pierce, Florida.
Registration required. Check Odom's Orchids website for info.

There will be an associated orchid sale by Symposium speakers ... but at a nearby site. You do not need to be a Symposium registrant to attend the orchid sale. The general public is invited.

If you can't attend what promises to be a very informative Symposium, focusing on cattleyas, then check out the nearby sales event. There will be some top rated growers represented, with cattleyas and many other types of orchids.

I've also been trying to get to this and I'm disappointed that I most likely won't make it

I have submitted vacation for the 2012 Redland Festival and will probably add this to the list so I am set for next year...

Ironically, I will be in Florida that weekend; but real life business is interfering with my fun
