My first mount! Male
Default My first mount!

Well, after seeing hundreds of pictures of various orchids mounted, I wanted to try my hand at at. Today I bike over to a local library, and since I was bored, I decided to head over to a pet store. Once I was there, I then got the idea of looking for wood to use for a mount, and I found a nice piece of cork for $10.

Here is the cork with galvanized wire to hang it up.

After adding a thin layer of sphag.

After tying the sphag down with elastic twine.

Here is the plant, a Brassavola Grand Stars.

The tag tied on to the back.

And two new growths.
