Jas, I betcha' your going to really enjoy growing this 'chid. They seem to be in bloom more then their not.
Sue, sometimes it takes a few days to detect any scent. Some are only scented very early morning for a short time, Other will go off during the nite and almost all day long.
Mine smells like honey - it's so sweet makes me almost hungry
My other one, green hornet smells just aweful, it' enough to make ya toss up, gag me with a spoon
Gloria...I'm embarrasses to say I've had all three of my E cochleata for quite some time...and in bloom for a large portion of that time...and just never took a sniff! :bluching:
They just don't look like it should be fragrant
A little tidbit on the Green Hornet...I have a friend who's son is into fly fishing and he's used these blooms to catch fish
