C. mendelii 'Moulin Rouge'
Bright summer light really brings out the color of this outstanding species.
'Moulin Rouge' probably refers to the movie of that name. The movie, in turn, is based on the notorious French night club, with the red windmill on its roof, the 'Moulin Rouge'.

Gorgeous, not really rouge but just perfect for my tastes!

Looks like the better form (more colour in petals and sepals) of C. mendelii.
I'd love to have this in my collection (def on wish list).

I just uploaded the flower photo of another 'Moulin Rouge' that bloomed (another mericlone). I put it in my original post at the top, so the flowers can be compared easily.
The lighting was better in the second photo & I couldn't help but notice the big difference in mood from the first photo to the second.
