Thumbs up OS meeting raffle plants. what to do?

I was lucky I thought and win these 4 Blc's at the plant raffle. dont know what they all are yet but one is a Blc. Billy Simmons I know. Burned some leaves already on 2 of them and make me very sad. argh Im such an idiot. Put them out with my cymbidiums. the sun is too harsh for these greenhouse grown soft tissued Blc's. Should have put them in the shade and slowly worked em out to the safe line. I could tell they were soft and hadnt been "hardened" yet as I call it..I didnt think they would turn black in 3 hrs. I feel dumb all over again. I felt bad after I got home with everyones plants too but that didnt stop me .
Ive damn near killed 2 of them already..Orchid lords have smacked me now and make me pay attention again. I was too happy and got careless.

but shouldnt these be able to take the same sun eventually as a cymbidium ? full east sun in the am shade in the pm?.

Leaves can burn in less time than that. It usually is a combination of too much heat (too little ventilation) and direct sun. If they are to be in the same area as your cyms., you should provide more shade for them and even then, keep a close eye on them. Feel the leaves when they are exposed to sun. If they feel warm, alarm bells should go off: get them into the shade, or provide a lot more airflow.

it was almost 100 here so indeed the heat..a few days again it was okey. the sun has risen and taking longer to travel east to west..now i got to be an astronomer too .
the cym leaves are thin and dont collect the heat like the catt types do..juicy leafed plants boil where thin leaves dont..should have been a bell instead of just more cowbell between my ears

I give my catts only morning light but when I first moved them out, they stayed on the porch where they were barely touched by light. Then, I gave them dappled morning light, then full. Some did get a little red so I think I moved them a little too fast. Don't worry, Catts are tough. I had one suffer a very fast-moving rot that turned leaves to mush and it went from ten nice leaves to one in two days. It is now getting a new growth, healthy roots and, though set back, it will be fine. Yours will be, too. The growing season is here!
