You want to add the purplish color? Grow it outdoors in FULL sunlight (gradually increasing the light level, of course!). I burn a little bit of leaf every two or three years. I'm not concerned as the flowers are more important to me.

My plant usually won't grow from the end of flowering (typically, around April) until late summer/early autumn when it begins to get active.

This species "resents" repotting. I currently grow mine in LECA. Whenever I repot, I move it with as much of the media left intact as possible while I trim dead roots.
