Default Encyclia species

Indeed the time of the year for my favorite genus. An overview what has flowered or is flowering this year. In the next couple of weeks Enc. cordigera, Enc. incumbens (aromatica) and Enc. alata will follow.

All have been grown in the windowsill and have been in my collection for a full growing cycle or more.

Encyclia seligera very nice smelling species from Central America. I have recenctly received a specimen plant with something like 5 lead but it needs some nursing back but it will be something to see when in flower.

Encyclia bractescens I have two plants this one grows easily but I'm still strugling to establisch the other one (which I remember to have better flowers).

Encyclia hanburyi also here I have two plants but this is the only one that decided to flower. Strang thing this has 2 leaves per growth where the other one has only a single leaf on each growth. So we'll see if they are the same.

Two relatives of the true Encyclia's.

Prostechea tripunctata nice smelling minature plant that sheds it's leaves in winter.

Prostechea campylostalix a young plant with a few flowers but they can grow much bigger then this one. I like the nice grey leaves.

Nice photo work. I see a submission for the Calendar Contest here. Maybe the first bractescens photo or the first of seligera. Oh who am I kidding, how about all the landscape ones!

Wow! Can't say any more.

I love the Encyclia family, as a few of our natives are in it.. Enc Tampensis, Prosthechea cochleata, Enc Boothiana var. triandra, and prolly more..

tropiquest1 is a member here that sells on Ebay. The nursery is located down in the Keys. He always has an impressive amount of Encyclias both species and hybrids.
Really well grown plants.....
