Default Cattleya trianae - few varieties

Well-known, widely grown, extensively used in hybridization for its large flowers. Here, some of the first plants in bloom this year:

I didn't realize there were so many varieties. I still like C. trianae the best even though they're all lovely. Thanks for posting these.

The caerulea, concolor, and albescens are my favorites from this group. Are your albas blooming yet? Also do you have any with flares?

I acquired my 'Mooreana' by mistake a few years back. I was finally able to be home this year while it was blooming this time. It just finished blooming this week. The fragance is far better than I had ever expected it would be. I think I am hooked on yet another large flowering Cattleya species now.
