Default I would call it success

I bought three orchids at Lowe's in January 2009 and they were in horrible shape. I placed them in OICU and they started to grow roots and new p-bulbs. Once they had grown enough roots I potted them in the smallest thing I could find, the cut off bottoms of plastic water bottles. I have since re-potted two of them. I lost one along the way and can't remember it, all the better I suppose . The two that remain are doing better than I could have imagined ! They continue to grow roots, new p-bulbs and are getting stronger by the day. Now if only they would bloom for me. I can wait though, I have waited this long. I contribute the success of these plants to the wonderful people here on the OB . Thank you all so much for the support you give to all members of this awesome forum each and everyday !

Now for the show. I have added some pictures from their sad days as struggling little orchids to show you how far they have come.

ALRIGHT! WTG! I am doing the same thing right now. Lowe's "rescues", mostly an experiment just to see if I can. I think one is circling the drain, but I think the other is thinking about growing a new pb. Good Job

Thanks Bethany. What really worked for me was SuperThrive, it made tons of roots grow. I still use it, but it can cause some plants to act weird. I have a paph that is growing all crazy and I blame SuperThrive for the weirdness.

Thanks, Wabbit! I'm really proud of these two. They have really come a long way.

Great job! What a comeback! You must be a great grower to save somthing like this, or at least better than me.

Good growing! Bringing a plant back from near demise is more difficult than keeping a healthy plant growing. Congratulations.

Way to grow! They don't even look like the same plants anymore! I'm sure they will bloom soon for you.
