Encyclia altissima, rufa & adenocaula Female
Default Encyclia altissima, rufa & adenocaula

Does anyone grow these?

I've read the altissima does not like too much water and loves bright sun; orchidspecies.com indicates it should be "treated like a cactus." I'm not sure about that.

For encyclia rufa and adenocaula, how much water and light?

Thanks everyone.

Enc. rufa is warm and caribean I think no experience with this one.

Enc. adenocaula intermediate temperatures I grow mine in the windowsill. Plenty of water during active growth but drying up between watering. Very important NO! water during winter it will surely kill the roots.

May the pox befall on your orchid collection!!!!

NAY. It's good to spice things up from time to time. I'm just working my way through SBOE species anceps. I'm almost finished. Then I'm moving to schomburgkias and Laelia superbiens.

I've actually been buying lots of baby anceps. hee hee hee hee. They are sooooooooooooooo cute.
