Smile The Seven Year Orchid!

Hey everyone! I have something I want to share with you all! I bought an orchid over 7 years ago as a bag baby. It was Brassavola 'Little Stars' it grew a lot and it even made sheaths and then did nothing! then 2 months ago its new growths matured. I was at my wits end I waited soo long and nothing! but as I was about to toss this guy I saw little points coming out of one of the sheaths and I screamed!!!! I had buds! so guys this is the photo album from sheath to blooming on My Brassavola 'Little Stars' I hope you enjoy!

B. Little Stars - a set on Flickr

It has 4 spikes, two blooming now. The Smell is amazing!!!! It fills my whole room at night!!!! as soon as the lights go out Watch out! After waiting so long I'm glad I love the scent!

Thanks guys! I'm glad you like this! Its tough sometimes to see the indications of blooming on these because the signs are so minute. so i hope people will enjoy the progression and now know what to expect.

Congrats! I am waiting for spring to roll around so I can have this shipped without chances of it freezing to death.

It's always nice to have something bloom after years of waiting. Well done, hopefully you can look forwards to blooms every year now!

All the pics are great. Four spikes?? I guess it is really rewarding your patience. Aren't you glad you didn't toss it. As long as mine seem like they have any sign of life, I always give them another year. Hope my Catt rewards my patience like yours did. Congrats on your patience and great growing.
