Where did you find this information?

There flowering time should be different thus normally this should mean different species (genetic isolation)

No. Cattleya warneri is still a species of its own.

Cattleya labiata var. warneri is an old synonym for Cattleya warneri from when someone tried to reclassify it in 1887. It has been C. warneri since 1862 and it still is, to the best of my knowledge.

If a species name did change then your proposed relabelling of the selfing might be correct, except it doesn't appear that var. Rosea was ever an official name at all. Even if it had been official under C. warneri it would still have to be republished under C. labiata to be valid there.
