Soph. coccinea
Can't get used to calling this Cattleya. The plant itself is no longer mine but I'm posting it for the photo.

I love this one and that's a great photo. I still think of it as Soph. as well.

I've pretty much adopted the name changes in the Pleuros, but I can't get used to calling everything Cattleya.

I know what you mean. I haven't changed a single tag on any of my plants, and I'm not about to start. If I order a plant and it comes in with the new name on its tag, then so be it. 50/50 chance that the name will only be changed again in another six months.

I think you are correct, Stephen. These name changes are not widely accepted except by the RHS, and there seems a lot of disagreement about them.

Beautiful photo Ron! I feel the same way. I can understand them doing it to some of the the Brazilian Laelias but not everylast one of them and Sophronitis as well.

I've heard that it's done at least in part on the basis of DNA studies, but I still find it difficult.
