my Cattleya percivaliana 'Summit' after sitting dead still since last june has started a new lead .....Whew finaly.
I was afraid that it did not have a viable eye to take the lead left and was realy beginning to wonder....unpotted last week trimmed roots and sat it a bit deeper in the hydrotron so the one eye I thought might start into growth would be a little damper and Poof it fired right up.....now it could be that I added a 100 watt metal halide over the area and set the timer for a couple more hours of on time that kicked it into active growth also, but LOL new lead Im happy.I have been hovering and lol, once in a while moving Hydrotron away to check like a old hen turning her eggs.
C. percivaliana is a very hardy species of catt.
However, I have had a similar experience where it went a long period of time before initiating new growth.
Watch out though, now that it has started, it may just go nuts on you
