Cattleya walkeriana var. flammea 'Tokutsu'
“Variety Flammea” refers to the flares along the length of the petals and sepals. So far, this mericlone of C. walkeriana var. flammea 'Tokutsu' GM/JOGA has had different coloration with each flowering. Previous flowers had light blushes with very little “flame” or heavy blushes with no flame. This time, they look more like what the parent plant is best known for.
The coloration of C. walkeriana ‘Tokutsu’ flowers is heavily influenced by temperature. Daily high temperatures were 10 to 20 degrees lower when the buds of these flowers were developing compared to average high temperatures when previous buds developed.
