Default just a interesting little fact I found

In unifoliate cattleyas

The pseudobulb is covered with green sheathing leaves while developing. These leaves fade, dry out and turn into papery envelopes. In unifoliate Cattleya species there are 8 sheathing leaves, the ninth is the actual leaf.

LOL now I have to go count the sheathing leaves on my goldenzell.....Later
