Default Sophronitis acuensis: what's in it?

Hello, my S. acuensis is putting out two new growths, but as the leaves have unfolded, something strange is showing inside: something like sheaths!!! I know that genus Sophronitis doesn't make them, so what can they be? Second leaves???? Is it possible?
Thanks for every experience you can share with me.

well,it's not that they don't have sheathing bracts at the base of an inflorescence...they just aren't pronounced like cattleya etc. Do the leaves feel like they are kinda fat...like there's a bean inside? you may jut be seeing an early-stage bud.

Although, a second leaf is not IMpossible.

Hi, thanks very much for your reply.
What makes me think they're not sheaths is also their length...they're quite as long as the leaf!! And at the moment I don't feel any thickness at the base, but they're still hidden into the first leaf and I can't touch them very well.
