Default Eplc. Volcano Trick 'Fireball'
This plant gives a nice head of flowers. The inflorescence is 15 inches tall and carries 26 flowers. The plant is planted in a 4-inch pot in a bark mix. The plant has still not reached its maturity. It should send a taller spike with more flowers the next blooming season.

Seems like everyone's Volcano Trick are in bloom this week!

I just posted mine with its 5 or 6 flowers... not nearly as beautiful as your presentation. Nice.... must be something the water in Hawaii....

Camille, I got mine early '09 and this is it's third time spiking since then. So it seems it can bloom any time new growth matures. Mine even bloomed after wintering outdoors in less than ideal light, tho it didn't have as many blooms as the previous time (summer last year).
I'm hoping that with the slower going on the sheath/spike this time that maybe it's cooking up a bunch of buds for me
keeping my fingers crossed ...

I have this same plant, and am new to this type. Mine lost its flowers maybe a month or so ago. Am I supposed to cut the spike back? It looks very dry and dark in color right now. The tips of 2 of the leaves are dry and light brown as well but otherwise look healthy. Thanks
