Sc Beaufort 'South River' AM/AOS mini
While searching the net for mini catts one night we came across one named Slc Dream Weaver. We found some great varietals and eventually got word that two would be made available to us. It was winter time and the person wanted to wait to ship.
Weeeeeeell, in the mean time it bloomed and he took it to a club show and it won some sort of award. Now his wife won't let him sell it. I asked if I could get a division of it along with the other variety and have not heard from him since.
Soooooo, since I can't find any others available I decided to see if I could remake it. This plant Sc Beaufort 'South River' AM/AOS is one half of the cross. I am still looking for Slc Fire Fantasy.
Even though Renee now likes some varietals of Dream Catcher better now, I think I may still attempt the cross if I can find the FF plant. Even if I can't do that this flower is worthy in and of itself, yes? A little banged up from the trip.

If you haven't checked out their website, check out H&R Orchids in Hawaii. They originated both SLC Dream Weaver and SLC Fire Fantasy. You can probably purchase seedlings of these crosses or very similar ones. About 3-4 years ago I purchased a number of seedlings from them, and some were quite nice including a SLC Dream Weaver that was eventually awarded a HCC/AOS.
The variation in these crosses is quite interesting and fun to bloom out.

Nice bloom! Won't there be too much genetic variety to get the exact same plant even if you use the same parents? Human siblings don't look the same.

This is one great little mini!
Love the colors
Not a good thing that he would go back on his word to you .. I guess a wife is a great scapegoat to have ... (in that case, I am glad I'm not one!)
I saw slc fire fantasy at the NYC Orchid Show this year and was by it!
OOOh I want it!
Checking H&R now!

Yes, it is quite the mini and stands at best 3 inches tall from the soil line!
Done been to H&R and even called them. I guess they have abandoned that one. I have one other chance at a division of one next year if we are still interested.
Yes, there would be LOTS of genetic variation but isn't that the FUN of doing that. Plus, we might get a GREAT one too!!!
I do have a source for Dream Catcher, which Renee likes the colors and form of better anyway.

TWO new growths coming on this one. That means I should be able to get a better picture of the flower in a couple of months!

This is a dreamcatcher
I'm sure I have some fire fantasy and dreamweavers but couldn't find the photos.
They are all wonderful plants and Beaufort is in the background of many great hybrids.
