Mounting Cattleya Male
Default Mounting Cattleya

I recently got a Cattleya at my local orchid society. There are three skinny pseudobulbs and all the roots on the bottom have rotted. I got it for free and I had the idea of mounting it to wood so I found some bark and tied it up. I was just going to use this as an experiment to see how well the plant would do on wood. I mounted orchids to wood successfully before but not any cattleyas. The plant is getting new roots and I was wondering if it is still a good idea to keep it on wood or would it be a better idea to untie it and put in in bark or moss.

I would leave it be, sounds like it's happy.
