C. Chocolate Drop 'Kodama' x Pot. Rubescense 'Sunset Valley Orchids'

first bloom for this plant - it started with 5 buds, one withered early on, a second a couple weeks ago *sigh* - but I'm happy with 3

I have been trying to capture the color, without much luck, tho I guess these are pretty close, tho the open bloom pix are paler than the actual blooms, which are actually a pretty nice red with a hint of pinkish/purpley tinge - the lip is very nice red

thanks Nora - this one has been growing like a weed, so hopefully in the future can be a prolific bloomer

Really nice, I can imagine with Chocolate Drop as a parent the flowers would be a little darker than your pics show. Great looking flower.

Thanks Rosie. The blooms aren't as dark as Chocolate Drop, but a bit darker than the pix I took outside look. Also brighter red. I like it

Loverly! I like how it's full without being floofy. What nice velvety substance, great job Sonya!
I've found that shooting in a ray of sunlight gives me the most true to color pictures.
