That sounds like a simple solution. Is this something that is easily found at any nursery or do you order them on line? If online, can you tell me who you purchase from?

Ring stakes can be found at any orchid suppy company. I find the shortest ones are the best. I think they're 6". I buy mine from Green Barn Orchid Supply or Broward Orchid Supply because I live near them. You can get them online from either of those two companies or repotme.com or tindara. Any orchid supply company should carry them. A commercial orchid grower showed me how he uses them for all repotting. I use them when I repot in the spring and by the end of the summer the plant is usually established enough to remove the ring stake if I choose to. Often I just leave in place.

you could maybe use a rubber band or some plant tie too. I find the pot clips something more necessary
