Please excuse the poor quality of the pics, this plant sits kind of high on my rock wall and it was raining, so I just snapped a few pics and ran away! lol This is a great hybrid and is probably the closest thing I have seen to an orchid blooming true blue. Unfortunately, this year the buds came out kind of bunched together like you see. Usually they are better spaced.

Very pretty. Are they scented, and is that a fruiting epiphyllum/dragon fruit in the background?

Just beautiful! The flowers look like they are pretty good size. How large are they?

I just measured them and the flowers are just barely less than 4" across. I would say they are a medium sized Catt flower.

Rhyncattleanthe (Rth.) Volcano Blue has the parents Lois McNeil x Blue Boy, this cross was registered on the 13.3.2000 by Akatsuka Orch. Gdns., for those who are interested.

Yep. I got this one from Akatsuka in 2003 or 2004 as a seedling. One of the most interesting nurseries I've ever been to. Its in the Hawaiian cloud forest so they can grow cool growing stuff as well.
