Default little marmaid

This name tag had Little Mermaid, was this registered with an incorrect spelling. Anyone know, should it be Marmaid or Mermaid, pretty little flower regardless.

The tag on mine says Marmaid which I thought was a typo, but I think it actually is Marmaid. Mine is in recovery from a good case of sunburn.

Little Marmaid is the correct registered name. Easy to check at the RHS website:

I don't know how to use that site, I put the name in both ways and came up with nothing. What should I have put in? Thanks

Just type the Marmaid (spelt correctly, I tried Marmade first) in the 'Grex' name. Leave the genus blank.

That way it comes up with matches even if the genus has changed. It comes up as Brassocatanthe Marmaid which I guess is the current clasifiaction. Here's a link to the result screen.

Thanks for your help, I've got it working now. I thought the color of this orchid was special too.

Of course by not putting in a Genus you need to use common sence with the results. If it comes up with a Phal then it's obviously wrong. Sometimes though there can be two of the same name with similar related genuses and then it can be more difficult to know which you've got unless you are certain of the genus of yours.

In this case just the one result though so makes things easy
