Beautiful blooms. Does this one always bloom in August for you? I only have one plant of C. labiata and it consistently blooms in October every year.

This one bloomed last year in October. We have had some cool nights for a couple weeks after a really hot July this year. That may be what's caused the early arrival. It's lip isn't nearly as nice as last year, maybe because of the heat.

Interesting difference between the lips from one year to the next. Maybe it has something to do with warmer summer temperatures inhibiting the lip's expansion? Either way (summer or fall blooming), your plant has beautiful blooms. Congratulations.
