Default I am excited my first catt type chid to make a sheath ...

well It is a BC so kinda catt type

I was given a divison of xanadu "ruby star" this spring in june....it made three new leads still much smaller than old growths but ...whoot I have a small sheath in one now .....Now if all goes well maybe I get to bloom it this year time will tell ..

Good for you! Sometimes catt sheaths fizzle out. Hopefully yours will bloom.

John, I have the exact same thing happening! After years of nursing Catt's I finally have one with two sheaths. One is obviously empty but the other shows "something" inside!! Now to see if it will make it or dry up. Fingers crossed. Oh, it's Catt. Sweet Sugar and is in Passive Hydro.

The correct name for your plant given the info you supplied is Brassocattleya Star Ruby, I don't know where you got 'xanadu' from, can you help with this?
