Cattleya lueddemanniana coerulea
This one is a bit confused. My other lueddemannianas bloom in the late Winter or Fall. This one is here in August. It's a blue form and it looks GREAT in person, but like the subtle blue color of most coeruleas it does not photograph well.

Actually, I think ALL your lueddemannianas are confused, as the typical time for this species to bloom is spring
confused or not, you have a pretty nice coerulea!

Thanks.
Art Chadwick's book says that they can bloom twice per year in late Winter and Fall although late Winter is more typical. I don't care since one plant that blooms twice a year is good value for the space it occupies.

Very pretty bloom. My plant only flowers in the spring, even though it continues to produce one or two more growths between spring and winter (these late growths, however, never form sheaths). So if you've got one that's willing to produce blooms more than once per year, you're quite fortunate. Congratulations on your beautiful bloom.
