Default Cattleya maxima - lowland sub-species

Here's one of my Cattleya maxima in bloom now. This is the pure lowland race, in which the lip is white with reddish stripes.
The fragrance between noon and 2 p.m. strongly resembles the aroma of anise, something really wonderful!

Mauro,
This is such a great species and your flowers look great! Do you know if C. maxima is still in taxonomic 'limbo?' I read that after DNA analysis it is not quite a Cattleya, not quite a Guarianthe and certainly not a Laelia.

Wow, gorgeous plant. Very good form too. And of course, I love the blueish colour.

Steve, I read that new analysis of additional DNA sequences have provided enough information to assume that it is actually a Cattleya.
