Various Cattleyas

Hi All,
Have several Catts, e.g. C. Marjorie Hauserman 'York', C. Green Emerald, 2 Potinarias, a BLC, and an SC.
My question is, if they are all hybrids with various C. species in their background, how does one know what the cultural reqs. are such as winter rest/no rest and when will they bloom?
Does one of the background species dominate and therefore dictates the bloom schedule and requisite culture?
