Thumbs up Rhyncholaeliocattleya Aussie Wine

Rlc Aussie Wine was registered in 1999 and is a cross of Rlc Oconee x Rlc Erin Kobayashi. Both parents were registered previously as Blc, so you may see that on some older tags.

This was another recent purchase from Rob at Little Frog Farms. The plant has 8 p-bulbs and one flower.

I am having a terrible time this year with crickets and grasshoppers as you can see from the damage to the flower. So you have to concentrate on that beautiful lip and let your imagination fill in the gaps in the petals/sepals.

The flower has a sweet, subtle fragrance.

Grasshoppers and snails here. I was talking yesterday to a grower and fellow member of HOS and he said the same. This year he, too, has had unusual problems with pests. I went out at 10:30 pm two nights in a row and picked off over 30 snails from my orchids. Last night I found only two and they were on staghorn ferns.
The grasshoppers are another thing. If I could find them they would be history. I had a Brs. Roy Toyonaga blooming-that is- until the "hoppers" got the blooms.
