Dear Vandas, Ted and Dave;

Thanks a lot for the lovely complements but talent is a mixture of techniques, patience and love. If you have patience and love for flowers- the most important factor that sure you have- I do assure you you can create much more beautiful forchids than what I've done.

Once you decide to make one let me know, may be I can help you in some regards.

Pliable Clay Flower/ Cold Porcelain is a detailed sculpture and can stay the same for a long time almost like a statue if sealed perfectly well.

I've seen some pieces that have been made more than 30 years ago and still they have the same beauty.

Thanks again

Zahra

I've a little Phalaenopsis but it still it needs time to grow up and because of my two kids I can only make these flowers and put them somewhere out of their reach!

Are these fired, or just sealed? The colors really have a lively warmth to them.

Hi, Izzie!

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome. CP flowers must be sealed; otherwise, humidity or water can deform your work but you can fix this problem.

Cold Porcelain comes in two forms: Dry CP and Pliable/flexible CP. Although both of them are Air-Dry,
the first one can be fired but for the latter it must be exposed to the air nothing else.

for colouring you can use oil/acrylic/water colours and dust powders like what gumpaste artists use or painting pastel.

for the shinny part, you can use different kinds of sprays: acrylic, or coat them with glossy varnish or matt. it depends on your own prefernece.

Hope it could be of some help.

Zahra
