Default A couple of orchids in bloom now

Here are a few orchids in bloom now in my grh.
Encyclia cordigera is a well-known species, here in its alba version.
Stenia pallida is a small fan shaped (no pseudo-bulb) orchid found in the Amazon area with comparatively large flowers (8 cm). The most interesting characteristic is the sac-shaped, pointed lip.

That Stenia is really neat, Mauro, and a new one to me.

I've never come across the Stenia before - that lip really is something. It looks aquatic.

Thanks for sharing.

The lip is really interesting... I was looking at it more carefully and noticed that the pointed part is thoothed inside preventing anything inside the sac from getting free through the wrong way... awesome!

I too like the stenia, Mauro. It's quite a pretty bloom.

Really love them both. I think I remember seing the Stenia pallida when you posted it last year and I loved it then as well. The Encyclia cordigera is always a favourite of mine as well.

How strange, that Stenia looks like a Cym hooked up with a Paph and had kids! Very cool.
