Great advice from Orchid Board
A couple of years ago, I was debating if I should break this C. tenebrosa up into several divisions or try to leave it intact and move it into a large pot. I honestly can't remember who it was, but their statement was "go for it"! I now think it was great advice. Who ever it was, my sincere thanks for encouraging me to move it up!!

You're blooms are beautiful and the plant looks great!
I haven't had the heart to divide my big noid Cattleya. Over the last 4 years she has been bumped from a 8" to a 10" to a 12" and finally a 15" pot last summer. Next year I may be forced to divide her because I haven't been able to find an attractive 18" "orchid friendly" pot.

I think many large healthy orchid plants benefit from being divided. My problem is I usually end up with a lot of small divisions. Need tp find a few natural breaks and keep the divisions good sized. It seems to encourage the many dormant eyes to get busy and you quickly have a few good specimens to sell or trade.
Good job Jerry -- very nice Catt species.

Fantastic-looking plant and blooms, Jerry. Is tenebrosa fragrant? How are you growing it: warm, intermediate or cool? Congratulations on your beautiful plant (and for following the advice you were given).
