Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana

Hi

This is the first bloom of the Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana that I got from Orquideas Tropicales in Panama A second plant is in spike.

I wish I had a blue cattleya in flower now as the lip on this is so blue it is stunning - pity my camera cant quite capture it. I wonder what you might get if you crossed it to a good blue catt. Well, I guess its one of the future to try.

I will self and outcross this plant. I wonder about heat tolerance. It must have some as Gaspar was growing it in Panama City.

Yes, it is a beauty. I cant wait for it to get established and put on a good show.

I forgot to add, if anyone has its big cousin Oerstedella Schweinfurthianum, I want to get seed of it. I would be happy to buy or swap. IOSPE PHOTOS

This is NOT Oerstedella psuedoschummaniana, it's Epidendrum psuedoschummaniana Fowlie.

Thanks...the currently accepted name is Epidendrum pseudoschumannianum (according to Orchidwiz and orchidspecies.com) but it also has Oersterdella psuedoschummaniana listed as a synonym

Sometimes I get so confused but maybe I'll have better luck finding one for sale using the Epi name
