First time blooms from Myrmecophelia thompsoniana
The wait is finally over. My Myrmecophelia thompsoniana formerly Schomburgkia has finally bloomed. She began spiking about 2 months ago.

Thanks Kim. I wasn't sure what it would look like, but I'm very pleased. Bought it from an Ebay vendor with a "bloom will be similar to one shown in photo" caption.

Thank you.
The Myrmecophila and Schombonia are probably the most easy to grow out of my collection. They love grape wood mounts and I used very little sphag during the mounting process. My plants took to the mounts right away and there was visible growth within days. I spritzed them with water two to three times a day in the beginning. When they're established I water them once or twice a day during warmer months and two or three times a week when the weather cools. All my plants come indoors when the temperature drops below 48 degrees. I ferilize them every 2 weeks during growth phase and warm weather, but not during winter.
